Bonia comes into being through the creative inspirations of Carlo Rossarino, an Italian noble descent born at the turn of the 19th Century. Rossarino possessed a strong interest in the arts particularly captivated and inspired by GiamBologna, a 16th Century sculptor.

GiamBologna's works transcend mere figure-making; his vigorous figures exude the "Breath of Life" effect associated with the work of masters like Michaelangelo.

Carlo Rossarino chose the name "Bonia" in fond memory of his idol GiamBologna. It is the "Breath of Life" GiamBologna put in every piece of his work that Rossarino sought to capture in his own designs.
